Water temperatures in Baffin Bay are hovering between the mid-50s and mid-60s, and the fish seem a little undecided on where they want to settle. Some days they’re holding shallow, and other days they’re sliding deeper — all depending on the conditions.
On calmer days with stable weather, we’re finding fish pushing up shallower. When cooler north winds roll in and temperatures drop, they’re staging a bit deeper. Paying attention to water temperature, wind direction, and overall conditions has been the key to staying on fish here in Baffin Bay.

Texas Custom Corky’s have been working extremely well. SoftDines are also producing consistently, especially in:
- Pistachio – great in green water with sunshine
- The Truth – effective in greener water with cloud cover
- Dark Vader – another solid choice when skies are overcast
If you’re planning a winter trip to Baffin Bay, be ready to adjust depth and presentation based on the day’s conditions. The bite is there — you just have to match what the bay is giving you.
See you on the water!
