Moderating weather has really turned the big trout bite on in Baffin Bay!
This past week was nothing short of a dream. My clients landed numerous upper-slot and oversized trout in the 27- to 31-inch range—some pushing nearly 10 pounds!
We focused on areas holding lots of bait, especially grass strips along the shoreline, mid-bay potholes, and drop-offs with structure.
Topwater action was solid when winds were light, with more consistent bites in the potholes when wind picked up. The She Dog in black/gold chrome/orange was especially productive. As always, the Coastal Brew Baits 6” darts in Pothole Pimp, Watermelon Seed, and Hoochie Coochie delivered impressive results.
