Baffin Bay Fishing Report – April 2, 2025: Trout Bite Heating Up

April 2, 2025
Trophy spotted seatrout caught in Baffin Bay with Capt. Sally

Super windy conditions have forced a few reschedules lately, but the spring bite is heating up fast on Baffin Bay.

Smaller fish are feeding aggressively thanks to the arrival of the spring shrimp migration—and the trout spawn is just around the corner. That means the action is only going to get better, with bigger trout showing up daily.

Now’s the time to focus on landing your personal best speckled trout!

Straight-tail and paddle-tail plastics are producing well, and Texas Custom Lures’ Softdines are hard to beat—especially those with gold holographic flash inside.

Good luck and see you on the water!

What Capt. Sally's Guests Have to Say!

Sally is exceptional and knows Baffin Bay extremely well. We fished hard with the wind as it increased during the daytime. Enjoyed it all, even though I didn’t catch a big one.

This was my 2nd trip w/ Sally and I took my wife with me. While the weather wasn’t the best, we were able to catch my wife’s PB 27″ trout and Sally caught a 28″ trout. We also caught 3 slot trout and 1 slot red. As always, Sally is a pro with deep knowledge and expertise. But more importantly, she is a great person and a lot of fun!
